National Park Service Pilot 2017

Camp Rockaway designed, built and operated a 10-site campground at Fort Tilden for a National Park Service pilot in 2017. Garnering praise in a range of media outlets including the New York Times, Conde Nast Traveler, and CNN Traveler, Camp Rockaway positioned itself as a comfortable base camp and jumping off point for exploring Rockaway Beach and Jamaica Bay.

Camp Rockaway at Fort Tilden 2021

Camp Rockaway was awarded a lease at Fort Tilden beginning in 2021. The company has a model that reinforces the National Park Service mission of, “preserving local history, celebrating local heritage, and creating close to home opportunities for kids and families to get outside, be active, and have fun.”

Reimagine the Canals Pilot beginning 2021

Camp Rockaway was awarded a contract to operate a pilot (beginning in 2021) along the Champlain Canal in Schuylerville, NY. As a part of Governor Cuomo’s $300 million dollar Reimagine the Canals initiative, the company will offer vacationing New Yorkers an opportunity to experience the vast history and lush nature of one of New York’s oldest canalside communities by enjoying luxury camping on the banks of the Canal.
