Directions to Camp Rockaway
Camp Rockaway is located within the east courtyard of the Jacob Riis bathhouse, on the west end of the Rockaway peninsula. Rockaway is located in the borough of Queens. Parking is located in the Jacob Riis Park parking lot.
Depending on where you’re coming from, there are a number of ways to get to Camp Rockaway:
From the west: Take the Gil Hodges (Marine Parkway) Bridge, follow signs for Riis Park / Far Rockaway. Parking is located in the Jacob Riis Park parking lot. You must pay the National Park parking fee - Camp Rockaway is not permitted to waive the charge. Please remember to put both your National Park parking pass AND your Camp Rockaway parking pass on the dashboard of your car after you check in.
From the east: From Cross Bay Boulevard, take the Cross Bay Bridge and take the exit toward Riis Park. Merge onto Beach Channel Dr. After approximately 1 mile, turn left onto Beach 116th St., then right onto Rockaway Beach Blvd. Follow Rockaway Beach Blvd. for approximately 1.7 miles. At the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit and park in the Jacob Riis Park parking lot. You must pay the National Park parking fee - Camp Rockaway is not permitted to waive the charge. Please remember to put both your National Park parking pass AND your Camp Rockaway parking pass on the dashboard of your car after you check in.
Parking. We recommend parking in the eastern section of the parking lot - make a right after the guard booth - and using the tunnel to get to the beach. Look for the huge "To Beach" sign.

The closest subway station is Rockaway Park Station - Beach 116 Street. The A and the S (Shuttle) trains stop at this location. From here you can transfer to the Q22 or the Q35 buses to Jacob Riis Park.
The NYC Ferry departs from Wall Street / Pier 11 (Gouverneur Lane at South Street, F.D.R. Drive Manhattan, NY 10005), and from Sunset Park (140 58th St Brooklyn, NY 11220).
The Rockaway ferry landing is located at Beach 108th Street and Beach Channel Drive and connects to the Q22 bus - take the bus west to Jacob Riis Park. A free ferry shuttle connects to Jacob Riis Park Road / Bath House. You can find the shuttle schedule here. There is an A and S train connection between Beach 105th Street and Rockaway Freeway.
Long Island Railroad trains from Penn Station, Atlantic Terminal (Brooklyn) and Jamaica all service Far Rockaway. Please note that Far Rockaway is approximately 10 miles from Jacob Riis Park. A combination of subway and bus may be necessary if you’re planning to take mass transit from the train station.
Bicycle enthusiasts will find a mix of designated bike lanes and shared lanes to and from Jacob Riis Park. Biking within the park, Fort Tilden and the throughout the peninsula is a fun way to explore the beach, Jamaica Bay and everything in between.

Uber, Lyft, Juno and local car services are available throughout the peninsula.
